Anuel AA
Enmanuel Gazmey Santiago aka Anuel AA, was born on November 27 of 1992 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, in a middle-class family. The Puerto Rican singer completed his basic studies at the María Auxiliadora de Carolina School, showing great interest in music and songwriting at an early age. His father’s work environment as Sony Music Puerto Rico Vice President were a big influence in Anuel´s music path. On 2011 Anuel AA recorded “Demonia” featuring Ñengo Flow, this single was the very first time the people in Puerto Rico heard Anuel´s music and his particular sound, and it was well accepted. Anuel AA dedicated all his efforts to innovate with the Spanish Trap genre, at that time; it was a highly controversial type of music because of the explicit content in the lyrics. Although he was criticized by many, he became the biggest Spanish Trap pioneer in urban music, and it was only a matter of time for other young artist to copy his trend.
