Executive Chef Zouk Group
With years of experience at some of the country’s most recognizable restaurants, Joseph Elevado excels in menu development, restaurant openings and more. A lover of the comradery and creativity that comes with being a chef, he thrives in the fast-paced environment. In his current role as Zouk Group Executive Chef, Elevado plans to bring his knowledge, ingenuity and technical skills to the monumental opening of Resorts World Las Vegas, building a strong team and cultivating exciting culinary moments for the Zouk-operated venues within the property – FUHU, RedTail and AYU Dayclub.
A native of Staten Island, New York, Elevado was exposed to a variety of international cuisines and cultures at a young age. Seeking new opportunities after high school, he was inspired by a friend to apply to New York Restaurant School to pursue a degree in culinary arts. With hands-on experience at the New York Friars Club as a line cook and a culinary-based education under his belt, Elevado realized his true calling was to be a chef. Upon graduation, he joined Nobu New York City as a master cook. While working for the flagship restaurant, Elevado honed his skills in classic Japanese food preparation, aesthetics and Asian flavor combinations, training with the likes of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Chef Masaharu Morimoto. He quickly flourished in the role, and the following year, he assisted with the opening of Nobu Next Door, serving as the restaurant’s head kitchen chef.
Growing as a chef within the Nobu empire, Elevado was thrilled when presented with the opportunity to move to Las Vegas to open Nobu Las Vegas at Hard Rock Casino. As chef de cuisine, he successfully managed the opening team, eventually receiving several accolades for his work. He was quickly promoted to executive chef in 2001, not only helming the prestigious Nobu kitchen but overseeing execution of the warehouse, special events and driving food sales.
After almost a decade with the esteemed Nobu Restaurant Group, Elevado took his talents to PURE/Angel Management Group in 2006, opening Social House at Treasure Island and at the Crystals City Center and later consulting for the opening of two Social House sister restaurant locations in Mexico. The following years of his career led him to the prestigious hotel L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills, to opening Andrea’s Restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas and Corporate chef for local San Diego hot spots PrepKitchen. In 2019, Elevado and a team of talented culinary professionals developed the popular off-Strip concept, Jing Restaurant, located at Downtown Summerlin in Las Vegas. Elevado has worked tirelessly to develop his own unique style of cooking that reflects his extensive training and love for Asian cuisine. He maintains a philosophy of using the freshest ingredients and creating dishes that will excite guests and leave them wanting more. He looks forward to utilizing his talents and leadership skills to enhance the overall culinary lineup at Resorts World Las Vegas through the Zouk experiences.
